MCF: Dire Grove

A group of graduate students have gone missing in a town, Dire Grove, whereby a Celtic legend has been passed down from generations to generations for centuries. It has been told as a fairy tale to scare young kids.
However, is it really just a fairy tale, or a true legend? If it's not real, then what are the students?

RappelZ

Posted by E-Leafy Saturday, May 8, 2010

RappelZ is one of the MMORPG out there that has a quite different playing system as compared to most of the typical kind of MMORPGs like Maple Story, Rose Online, Dream of Mirror Online etc where you have to keep mugging and kill all the monsters and only have like a few skill points after leveling up once.

RappelZ has their skill system in such a way that you will get GP points for every monster you kill, if you want to up this certain skill, you will need like 800 GP points, so all you need to do is to keep killing monsters until you have an amount of 800 GP points. Unlike those games, even if you up a skill wrongly, you won't have to kill yourself and delete your character away, or spend money buying game cards to restart your skill points.

RappelZ don't allow you go up your character stats. Once you level up, the stats will go up by itself based on what job you are. This might be a good news out to gamers like me, because I always find it a pain to decide between the stats to up. Archers are said to just need stats like dexterity and agility, with some luck for critical hits? There might also be a need to up your strength to up your attack? Some games might even allow you to up HP and MP.. When there are so many stats to up and there's only 5 stat points for you to use for every level up, it always give me a headache when I level up and have to add stat points ZZz.

Pets are something that's very common among games. Of all the pet systems I have seen across a number of MMORPGs, World of Warcraft is one that has really good pet system, and that is also because the Hunter class needs to depend on their pet to kill off monsters and that is why player will have full control over their pets.

Most pet systems implemented are those that really don't do anything but just to follow the players around only. Players seldom have contorl over their pets, some games really have no purpose for the pets but only to make it seems that the game has features so pets are implemented when it would not do anything else other than to just look good. Or perhaps some would only attack the monsters when they are very close to the players, or perhaps only help by picking up items on the ground, but provided you have to spend money for that function (I believe you guys know which I'm talking about =P).

RappelZ pets are one that are interactive with the players, you can order the pet to attack a monster and you can attack from behind with a bow. Unlike the hunter class in WoW, being a pet breeder (a class in RappelZ that attacks mainly using their pets) doesn't allow you to use bow, and that's really what I wanted. Nonetheless, I continued using my bow and having a pet to attack the monsters. Or you can attack a monster together with your pet at the same time. You could also just attack a monster on your own and let your pet attack another at the same time.

This is the first race that was created for RappelZ (as what the developers have claimed...). This class belongs to a more earthy side, they are closer to normal human beings like us, so they had the elements of Fire, Wind, Eath and Water (If I did not remember wrongly).

This race, like how the background color tells, is the one that holds the dark element. Most people are likely to choose this class for the thief/assasin class.

This is the race that holds the light element. This race is the only race whereby if you become a warrior, you will actually get skills that can heal yourself, which is good for tankers and a nice solo character, but mostly this race is chosen for people who would like to become healers.

All 3 races can become warriors, pet breeders and magicians. However, the skills they would develop for those classes would be individual.
You can read more about the classes information here.

If you are sick of games that really are too typical, which gets you real damn bored like only after 5 minutes of playing (which is the case for me, cuz I download, install game and play a game for like less than 5 minutes and would uninstall them fast cuz it's too boring), then you can try this game.

This game would pretty much hook you on for a long time. =)
